What other news IS there today??!
Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs has passed away at the age of 56 after losing a long-term battle with cancer.
In a statement on Apple’s website, the company pays tribute to its iconic leader:
“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
The passing of Jobs comes just days after Apple unveiled the latest member of its iPhone family: the iPhone 4S.
Alongside revolutionising the smartphone industry with his firm’s bestselling iPhone, Jobs turned the tablet market upside down with the launch of the game-changing iPad in 2010.
