Future Publishing's Golden Joystick Awards (aka the People’s Gaming Awards) are unique in two respects.
Firstly, they are the world’s best-known and longest-running gaming awards ceremony, having launched in 1982.
Secondly, the Golden Joystick Awards themselves are voted on by the general public, so there’s no hint of subterfuge or PR conspiracies here, thank you.
The GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards 2011 gala event will take place on October 21st at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza, and the voting on the 14 categories is officially open.
The award of most interest to the Quality Index, of course, is the Best Mobile Game, which this year comprises 20 nominees.
Among the contenders in the Mobile section is a veritable smorgasbord of highly Qi rated iPhone games, including the Meffys 2011 winner Dead Space, the BAFTA-scooping Cut the Rope, and two of our own Top 10 titles of 2010: Real Racing 2 and Infinity Blade.
