Outcast Odyssey, which is now available to download worldwide for iOS, is a very interesting game from developers Magic Pixel Games and Bandai Namco Games America.
It’s interesting because it mashes together two genres that you perhaps wouldn’t expect to see combined: dungeon crawler and card battler. These two genres have been blended together to create a fast-paced adventure title that’s set in a fantasy world full of monsters and magic.
Your main aim in Outcast Odyssey is to explore the colourful world around you, while collecting treasures and uncovering monsters.
Don’t worry: the monsters that you run into during your adventure can be defeated in RPG-like battles using the ‘explosive’ powers of the hundreds of hand-drawn cards that Outcast Odyssey has to offer.
Like most collectible card games, Outcast Odyssey allows you to enhance and even evolve your collection of cards in order to make them more powerful as you work your way through the game and defeat opponents.
Monsters don’t have to be your only victims here. Outcast Odyssey features a PvP mode that allows you to compete against other players too. There are even weekly prizes for being the most powerful outcast in the realm.
Furthermore, you can create and join your very own guilds with other players, and battle outcasts from opposing guilds in the game’s arena for ‘great rewards’.
Grab Outcast Odyssey for free for your iPhone and iPad [download] right now. It’ll be available for your Android-powered smartphones and tablets next week.
