TV series tie-in The Walking Dead: The Game shuffling onto the App Store in April
I'm going out for a walk. I may be sometime...
The apocalypse is set to arrive on iOS devices this April in the form of Telltale's TV tie-in The Walking Dead: The Game.
Given that The Walking Dead has already made the jump from successful comic series to top-rated AMC TV show, series creator Robert Kirkman decided it was time to bring his nightmarish tale of a world overrun by zombies to the mobile gaming market.
You play an all-new character named Rick Everett, who is on his way to prison when he gets run off the road. Suddenly free, his euphoria is short lived when he realises that the world around him has gone to hell - literally.
This being a Telltale game, we expect the five-episode series to have an exploration / puzzle focus, in a similar vein to the studio's previous efforts Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Ep 1 and Hector: Ep 2 - Senseless Acts of Justice.
Though there's not a lot of information available on the five-part series at the moment, we know that the game's narrative will run parallel to that of the comic and TV series, and will deal with issues surrounding family and loss.
Newcomers to this undead phenomenon, by the way, might want to check out The Walking Dead comic app, which will provide you with a digital version of the comic book series to help get you up to speed.
Luckily, if you're already - ahem - dying to get your hands on The Walking Dead: The Game, you'll only have to wait until April for the first episode to shamble onto the App Store.
