After three and a half years of distinguished service, the App Store has reached a landmark 25 billion downloads.
In honour of this momentous achievement, Apple recently published a list of the 25 most downloaded paid-for and free apps on iPhone, giving us some idea of how that huge number breaks down into actual downloads.
The fact that Angry Birds is the most downloaded paid app won't come as a huge surprise to most of you. In fact, the franchise is so popular that two of its spin-offs, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio, both feature in the Top 10.
Other paid favourites that feature in the Top 10 positions include chat client WhatsApp Messenger, swipe-tastic duo Fruit Ninja and Cut the Rope, and zany platformer Doodle Jump.
As for the free apps, social network Facebook's iOS incarnation takes the top honours, with VoIP client Skype finishing in second place.
The official eBay and Twitter apps also make it into the upper echelons of the list, above Google's Earth and Search apps, with time-wasting physics title Paper Toss landing just below.
Impressively, freemium sensation Temple Run is the 23rd most downloaded free app of all time despite only being available for seven months.
You can see both lists in full below.
