Following the revelation in November that both its forays into the social mobile space - Gun Bros and Toyshop Adventures - had attracted 1 million downloads rather rapidly, Glu Mobile has unfurled another impressive App Store sales sheet.
After only 20 days on Apple’s marketplace, Glu’s freemium game Deer Hunter Challenge has been downloaded over 2 million times by master marksmen worldwide.
This third instalment on iOS of Atari’s evergreen franchise picks up the bloodstained baton from the highly Qi rated Deer Hunter 3D, transporting players to far-flung locations in search of the next big cougar kill.
A variety of customisable weapons, including Qi’s beloved Bolt Rifle, can be procured as you make your way from rookie to De Niro, all the while reliant on the GPS map for instruction.
Bonus rounds and mini-games flesh out the cat-and-moose action, a suite of handsome trophies up for grabs for the largest reindeer slain.
"With more than ten million [lifetime] downloads and counting, we are proud to work with Atari on making Deer Hunter the most authentic and best-selling hunting franchise on the App Store," said Glu Mobile's CCO Giancarlo Mori.
"This title is a unique, free-to-play game in its genre, offering incredibly detailed 3D environments and very realistic animations."
Shoot on over to the App Store and install Deer Hunter Challenge now for zero pennies.
