Semi Secret Software’s highly Qi rated platform / running game Canabalt was highlighted by Apple last summer as part of its 49 iPhone Games You’ve Never Played promotion in a bid to raise the profile of ‘undiscovered’ gems.
The developer decided to take promotional matters into its own hands pre-Xmas by reducing the price of the energetic Canabalt as part of a charity initiative.
Along with a host of other indie studios, Semi Secret Software donated a third of all revenue generated from its title over the festive period to the Child’s Play charity.
So, it seems only fitting that the maker of Canabalt rewards these indirect donors - aka App Store customers - with a top notch refresh, including upgrades to the visuals for Retina display devices.
Owners of iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G also benefit from an improved framerate, ensuring that Canabalt’s gameplay zips along at breakneck speed.
Apple’s social network Game Center encourages some healthy competition among the free runners, in action What’s on iPhone describes as “incredibly simple to play but amazingly detailed to watch.”
Sprint on over to the App Store this second and install Canabalt for the knockdown price of 59p / 99c / €0.79.
