Both Glu’s twin-stick shooter Gun Bros – currently sitting pretty near the top of the Qi games chart – and the more child-friendly Toyshop Adventures have racked up 1 million downloads, demonstrating strong early momentum for these freemium titles.
“We are thrilled with the reception to our first social mobile games. We expect to release five to six new social mobile titles every quarter on smartphones and tablets to satisfy mobile gamers appetite for quality, innovative gameplay, and social mobile games,” stated Niccolo De Masi, Chief Executive Officer, Glu.
Furthermore, Glu was pleased to report that Gun Bros is averaging more than 100,000 daily active users on iPhone, with Toyshop Adventures attracting over 70,000.
The former received critical praise from Slide to Play, who complimented Gun Bros’s artwork and learning curve: “The graphics feature fantastic animation and a variety of challenging enemies...While the fifty waves will repeat on harder difficulty levels, the level of challenge always feels fresh.”
The latter earned similar acclaim from AppSpy for its “incredibly detailed visual style that’s fun and varied.”
Gun Bros and Toyshop Adventures are free to download from the App Store now.
