Car Jack Streets goes free, gets massive boost
It's a steal

Proving that the price everyone loves the most is free, Tag Game's excellent topdown GTA-clone Car Jack Streets went free last week, and immediately bombed up the charts, hitting the number 1 spot on the US free charts.
It's another example that even for developers of succesful iPhone games, discovery over the longterm is a massive issue. Car Jack Streets was released in mid-2009, and since then has fallen out of the charts as newer and more complex games have been released.
The wider issue for developers, however, is will the flood of free game further reduce the iPhone audience's appetite for paid games?
Last week, Freeverse released a free version of its epic space combat and trading game Warpgate following its relative failure as a £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99 title.
