You can learn many of the skills to drive a real steam locomotive. I should know, I drove my first steam engine at 19 years old. It takes knowledge and skills to start and stop your train, but you can do it with some practice. When you need it, a 16 page Engineer Guide explains some of the basics about how a steam engine works and how to operate it.
