Australian dev Halfbrick has revealed that Fruit Ninja has been downloaded 300 million times on mobile devices. The studio released the impressive statisic to celebrate the game's two-year stint on the App Store, during which time it has risen above its peers to become the second-most downloaded app on Apple's mobile marketplace.
2D tower defence title Defender Chronicles II: Heroes of Athelia has received a substantial update, which adds new enemies, maps, and items to the popular genre mash-up. Battle-hungry commanders will be delighted to find a new challenge in the form of the Sanctuary map. While you're surveying this fresh environment, you'd best keep your eyes peeled for a new enemy type: the ominously named Bone Rider.
If you don't already know, Qi trawls the print and online media for game and app reviews from respected sources like Macworld, TiPb, 148Apps, and GameSpot. A unique Qi formula is then applied to each site and publication to establish a definitive Qi score for the app or game. Top 5 recommendation lists, news round-ups, and regular industry analysis complement the dynamic Qi charts. Qi has its own Twitter feed, too, @qualityindex.
